Out of the top ten skills employers look for from college graduates, i believe the ability to work in teams is most important. I feel this way because if you get a job as a nurse, a surgery cant be done without precise team work by the nurses and doctors. Its more important than the others because it very rarely that a job doesn’t require teamwork. I feel that this is my best trait because I know how important teamwork is from my athletic background in basketball. When I go play basketball I don’t always know the people i play with but you have to build chemistry in that short time to win the game. I feel that when i meet people i work with I get to know them as fast as possible and that should serve me well in future jobs.

Another important trait I have the ability to analyze a problems to quickly come up with the best solution. This important because in a work area if a problem occurs that requires quick thinking, you cant choose just any idea that may not work. Im good at thinking about all my options before I act. When im in a situation no matter how little or big it is, I always look past whats happening at the moment and think about the future. I’ve been good at this for as long as I remember. This will help me a lot if I become an engineer.

One skill that will probably help me the most as a engineer would be the abillity to be creative and innovative with new ideas. I feel im good at this because when I first developed my love for building, I used legos. I never wanted to build the things in the book, I always wanted to come up with my own different things to build. I always came up up with elaborate designs of space ships and buildings. So I feel if became a engineer, I would never lack ideas.

One thing that i could inprove on is my speeking and writing abilty. Its not that i cant talk and write well, its more of doing those things under pressure. In the business world you may be under pressure by your boss to give a speech or write an important document. This is a big part of having a good job, and i feel this is my spot for improvment.

Before 1519 Mexico was controled by many groups of indians. Groups like the Maya, Aztecs and Olmecs. They had been around for decades before anyone else arrived. From 1519 to 1521 Hernan Cortez and his conquistadors sailed to the land to claim it. When they found people already settled there they quickly overthrew them and took control. Mexico controled a large amount of land. They had up to what is now South Carolina and on the other side territory well into to what is now california. Over the decades since those events mexicos size has definently shrinken do to war with the U.S, but lots of traditions, foods, and hollidays have been established in Mexico.Like Sinco De Myo which is when Mexicans make a lot of food a pastries and they leave it at grave yards for the souls of the dead. A lot of advances in other things to like science. Three parts of that movement are Jose Antonio Villasenor who was a mathematician who estimated the first population record of Mexico. He estimated 3,865,000 people. Another person is Carlos Castillo-Chavez who is the director of the Mathematical and Theoretical Biology Institute. He mostly searches into the math side of why diseases spread so fast. One more person is Mario J. Molina who is a nobel prize winner for his work with chemistry. The people of Mexico have a strong rich backround and continue to pave good a backround for future Mexicans.

Recipe for Rice and Beans:
Ingredients
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup uncooked white rice
1 1/2 cups low sodium, low fat vegetable broth
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 1/2 cups canned black beans, drained
Directions
In a stockpot over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the onion and garlic and saute for 4 minutes. Add the rice and saute for 2 minutes.
Add the vegetable broth, bring to a boil, cover and lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes. Add the spices and black beans.

Why was my feeling of nervousness my first day of highschool the same as my first day in all my past grades. It felt the same as the first day of 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th and 8th grade. I knew i was going to be in a new building with new people and a higher level of learning but it was still the same as 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th and 8th grade. I pulled up to the school and the butterflies in my stomach were flying rapidly. I went in and took a deep breath on the stair well then walked on to the second floor. I the lost my nervous feeling and became confident after seing how the people were. I got to my advisory and i sat down. Shortly after that my best friend that went to school with me since 2nd grade came in. I was completly fine then. My first day of highschool was fun and I got to meet new friends. It was the same as my first day of 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th and 8th grade.

JOURNAL

Spring 1944-Hello journal, I’m finally back to writing again. I am now 15 years old and currently learning more about my religion from a wise older Jew named Moshe the Beadle. I’m very interested in what he is teaching me. My family is doing well. The only bad part about life now is that Hitler and the German troops are trying to take over our jewish rights and cities. German troops have moved into Hungarian territory. My family heard that Jews in the capital were being harassed in anti-semitic ways. Jewish owned stores and synagogues were being burnt downed. Even with that news nobody here in Sighet believed they would come here,but they did. Everything was fine when they first came. Some had ther own homes and some even lived with Jews. They were very polite but distant fro their hosts. A German officer lived in the house across from us. They were very kind overall at first. Then, slowly, rules started being enforced. First al Jews had to were a yellow star, then we weren’t allowed in cafes, to travel on the railways, to attend synagogues, and we were not allowed in the streets after six o’clock. The rules make my family and all other Jews sick. The decrees kept coming. The next on was a ghetto. The ghetto separated the jews from the Germans with big walls. The things that happening are scary and i hope it doesn’t go any further.

Summer of 1944- Unbelievably more things are still happening. The Germans are deporting all the jews. We had to gather all our stuff and we got on a train. We meant a lot of people during that time on the train. when we got out the ss officers we guiding us in directions, “Men on the right and women on the left. I hope my family will come back together again, but for right now we are apart it was just me and my dad. They had all the men in a line that was moving forward slowly but surely. We could smell smoke in the distance but we didn’t know what was going on. As the line moved forward we could see flames coming from the group and the Germans were forcing jews into the flames. me and my father made it up to the front and they asked us our age and health status. We were in front of the flames when a convoy of children and babies came in and the Germans threw them in the flames. I was shocked at what i was seeing. I questioned why god was letting this happen. Luckily me and my father spared and sent to us different line. They took all our clothes except our shoes. We had to go through a big a shower then they gave us inmate clothes. We were so confused but we knew it would be a long night ahead of us.
Its been some time since ive gortten to write in my journal.Ill start from where i left off.Later that night we had to take a long march to another camp called Auschwitz. At Auschwitz we all were given a number to be referenced by. Mines was 7713. After a night or two at Auschwitz we were forced to march in the cold to another camp called Buna. At Buna we were overworked and mistreated. We all suffered beating and witnessed public hangings of people who didnt follow rules. I suffered 25 strokes from a whip because i walked in on a kapo with a girl. I can also say that my faith in god was completly demolished and destroyed. There was another selection process which luckly my father and I made through. Shortly after that i injured my foot and had a surgery. I was nervous about wheather they would kill me or not because of the injury. After I healed up the Nazis decided to relocate all of us because the russian army had made advancments. We had a long difficult hike to another camp in the dead winter cold. Many people did not make it through the hike. If men stoped they were shot and killed. My father barely made it to our desination.

After marchin we arived at a train nd had to take a ride. During the ride I witnessed a son kill his father for a peice of bread. We got to the new place it was much like Buna. I little before the russians invaded my father was ill and couldnt follow orders given by a kapo. I didnt do anything about it. The kapo struck my father in his head. He was bleeding perfusly and had a cracked skull. I stayed by his side emotionless and tired until i crawled in the bunk over him. When i wokecin the morning he was gone. I knew he was either on his way to or already in the creamatory. I had no emotion about it. Days after that the russians came in and took control freeing us. It was finally over. Now i rest in this hospital and when i look in the mirror i see a dead body looking back.

1. They choose to hang some prisnors in public to just remind the prisoners to act correctly. The wanted to prove a point and show their power.
2.To me Elie and his father’s relationship got stronger and weakened a little at the same time.It got stronger because all they had was each other. It weakened because i think Elie thought his dad would be more of a leader.
3. This is a significant act because Elie’s dad wanted him to defend himself no matter what. It was basically telling him to be a man. When Elie said “the inheritance” it means the fact that he was given the role of leader or man between him and his dad.
4. Elie’s time at Auschwitz has made him believe a little less because he wondered why god would let those things happen to him and the rest of the Jews.
5. The workman causes a stampede by throwing a piece of bread on the floor of the wagon. His actions suggest that he is a trouble maker. This incident suggest that the rest of the prisoners are starving.
6. The conflict that comes up between Elie and his father is how his dad became sick and Elie had to give his dad extra food.
7.On January 28, 1945 Elie’s father was hit by the SS officer witch was the blow that shattered his skull and killed.
8.It means that he will never forget his struggles and what happened t his family in the Holocaust. It will stay with him for the rest of his life.
9.He kept us from responding to his story by giving us a detailed description of everything. he also gave a good beginning middle and end.
10. The meaning of the tittle is how Elie wanted the dawn to come that he was free and every night was turned into a very long one. If i could tittle of this book i wouldn’t i would keep it the same.
